I miss the option to assign BINS and ITEMS to different packaging / storing types when working with FLOATING BINS

You have warehouse classes that have their uses but the way they are implemented makes it a hassle needing separate receiving and shipping zones that makes sense for its intended use (frozen storage, dangerous goods etc) but is to much work to justify if you have a lot of small groups of items with size dependent storage needs.

Examples of different needs within a pallet rack meant for euro pallets.

80*80 pallets can only be stored on the ground level of a pallet rack meant for europallets

120*100 pallets would take up two BINS that don't have a horizontal support in between them.

5000 * 80 pallets for very long goods

120 * 80 pallets come in many different heights (1m50 to 2m40).

Possible Solutions:

Assign items on the item card a type of class or storage type and capacity (could also be linked to a packaging quantity).

Then assign every BIN one (or more) types of items that it can accept. This way the system will chose the BIN's meant for that type of pallet.

Specify a height, width and length RANGE on the BINs instead of just cubage and have the system take those 3 dimensions into consideration when choosing the BIN to store to. Chose the Unit of Measure to be used to determine BIN size requirements.

Example:

Bin for pallets 0-180cm high , with 70-85 and lengths 115-130

Bin for pallets 180-240cm high , with 70-85 and lengths 115-130

This to better reflect the available bins in the warehouse.
