Display order is a merchandising function of an e-commerce store. The current functionality is very limiting as far as merchandising products. It is set at a hierarchy level, allowing one order for all products within the entire hierarchy, even if they appear in multiple categories, set by a number. display order should at least be able to be set by sub-node, if a customer clicks directly into one, it should be able to display its own order of products.
in a best case scenario this would be a function within the site builder, under Products, with a drag and drop functionality per category and visuals to allow the merchandiser a chance to see the order before it goes live on the site.

I am so glad to see this is being considered and this was posted as an idea. This is something that all ecommerce applications I have ever worked with have and this is an absolute must! I wish I could vote 100x for this :). Thanks so much!
