I guess this is both a question and a suggestion.

1)  Would Scholarship records use the Grants entity?  Or would we consider a seperate Scholarship entity?

I would suggest a data model for Scholarship look something like this:

Scholarship

• Name


• Donor (lookup to customer)


• School (lookup to account)


• Distribution Type (lookup e.g. Year-end)


• Scholarship amount (currency)


• Tax amount (currency)


• Matched School funding (yes/no)


• Contribution Amount (currency)


• Means-tested (yes/no)

Conversely we could probably extend Grants to cover this also.
