In Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO), setting mandatory fields for entities like customers and products can currently be achieved through views. However, this method can be cumbersome, particularly in organizations with complex requirements or when consistency across different business units is needed. To streamline this process, we propose the implementation of a global template feature that allows administrators to define mandatory fields at a template level.

Introduce a global template functionality in D365FO that allows administrators to specify mandatory fields for various entities, such as customers, products, vendors, and others. These templates would provide a standardized approach to data entry, ensuring that critical information is consistently captured across the organization. The templates could be applied across different legal entities, divisions, or regions, ensuring uniform data quality and compliance.
