Hi all!
I currently work in the support department for an ERP company in the North East of the UK. There are certain customers that I work with who have large databases and are nearing their database capacity. For the sake of support we need to copy their database, however there are issues when it comes to their capacity that is causing a problem for us. Right now i'm stuck clearing incoming documents out of another sandbox one at a time to try and free up space.
An idea that I have is that, in order to prevent customers buying extra database capacity unnecessarily, is to have an option on the copy company to only copy the environment for the past x amount of records. The majority of what is copied is actually useless and has no value to me or the customer and is just taking up their capacity space.
It would be great to simply copy the environment, the setup and the data up to 100 records in the past per table. I'm still likely to have the problematic record that I need rather than a huge swathe of records that I'm never going to look at.
I believe that this will help speed up support procedures as this will mean that I could potentially copy environments with minimal disruption on the customers as creating an environment with 100 records per table would be a lot quicker.
