Link Purchase Order and Sales Order:

Client is trying to link a purchase order to a sales order using Table 39, but the Sales Order fields aren’t being populated. The client is creating a purchase document from the sales order by going to Actions -> Functions -> Create Purchase Document -> Create Purchase Orders. You are looking for a way to see how these are linked in tables.

Would like the two documents to be linked even though the order lines are not drop ship or special orders

That's one of the first questions customers using "Create Purchase Order" or "Create Purchase Invoice" from a Sales Order ask: why can I not see what Sales Order originated the Purchase document? Adding the Customer PO would also help.

The Same applies to Purchase documents created from Assembly Orders.

Not all orders would be a Special Order. The linkage between a PO and SO would be good to show users as added information so they know that a PO created for this SO. Having the added steps of Reservation or Drop Ship just to show the linkage seems to be too complicated when it's not a drop ship or nor does the client want the inventory reserved against each other.

Would you not use the "special" order on the line to allow the PO to be linked to the SO. Bit clunky at the moment, but it does work.

I do agree that if I create a PO from an SO line it should link the two. (maybe auto create special order line)

We need that as well, especially as the Pruchase Order can be created multiple times for a single Sales Line. So connection to a sales order or reservation entries or both would be usefull.
