When we use Post and Transfer, transactions that have all the correct information will post without an issue. Those transactions that have a bit of an issue are then transferred to a new journal. The problem is the new journal number inherits only the workflow approval state and links the original journal number but the workflow history appears to be retained in the original journal number. Since the original journal is blank it will not post, hence they would have to be deleted, along with the workflow history. Losing visibility of the workflow history in the transferred journal makes it difficult to prove that the journal actually passed through workflow without the details, it makes it challenging to substantiate SOX compliance.
