In order to make the email template really customizable, but easy to use, let us create our own content tiles. In these tiles we can add true mobile-responsive HTML code and set the properties which the users can change. So for example in a 1 column image - header - paragraph - button tile, the properties will be:
- Image
- Image alt text
- Image link
- Header text
- Paragraph text
- Button text
- Button link

So no margin, padding, font-styling etc, that is managed within the HTML of the tile.

Another example a 2:2 column image - paragraph - textlink, the properties will be:
Column 1:
- Image
- Image alt text
- Image link
- Paragraph text
- Textlink text
- Textlink link

Column 2:
- Image
- Image alt text
- Image link
- Paragraph text
- Textlink text
- Textlink link

A couple of other interactive examples: a CSS animated button, an image carousel, image roll-over effects, etc.

It would be best if this was not managed with properties, but could be changed within the editor itself, but using properties is a good start. This way you can use actual email HTML design and coding techniques, even some interactive elements!

Other Marketing Automation tools are using this as well like Adobe Campaign, Selligent and CanopyDeploy.
