As part of the September 2023 updates, Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys transitioned to focus on Real-time Marketing features only. To support this transition, in early August 2023, provisioning of new instances changed, so that:

• New customers no longer receive the outbound marketing module. New customers need to contact support to add outbound marketing features.

• Existing customers see the same provisioning change but can add outbound marketing features themselves using a self-serve interface available on the Settings > Versions page.

The 30-day free Trial licence is set up to provision the latest version of the app, i.e. as if they were new customers.

Students and Consultants studying for the MB-220 Customer Insights - Journeys certificate are still being examined on the pre-1st September deployment, including Outbound Marketing features. The updates to the exam that took place on 20 September 2023 were very minor, predominantly to change the name of the app.

Learners do not, however, have any way to get the necessary hands-on experience unless they contact support and ask for the Outbound Marketing features to be deployed into their Trial environment.

Unlike other Dynamics 365 exams, there are no hosted labs offered for MB-220 self-directed learners through the identified Learning Pathways.

Until we're in the position where:

1. All the functionality that needs to migrate from Outbound Marketing to Real-time Marketing has been, and
2. All the MS Learn and MS Learn Documentation has been updated to match, and

1. The Skills Measured for the MB-220 Customer Insights - Journeys has been updated to align with the above, or
2. The MB-220 and MB-260 Customer Insights - Data Specialist certificates have been merged into a single new MB-2xx certificate and exam that, again, aligns with the above,

Then those signing up for the free 30-day Trial who are taking the self-directed Learning Pathway should be able to identify themselves as such (a simple check-box) and have the same ability as existing customers to be able to add the Outbound Marketing features themselves using a self-service interface available on the Settings > Versions page.
