By introducing the option to create a free text invoice by leveraging Fee categories against the project (from AX 2012) at a line level, it has effectively made the 'Freetext' a project transaction document (although we know it results in a fee transaction against the project). However there is no way to create this directly from the project.
Requested function
- To allow the ability to directly create a freetext invoice directly from the project as one of the options under the NEW > ITEM TASK.

It would be great that the freetext invoice only can be called if the project allows it, e.g T&M project group and also validating if the project stage of the project allows posting.
Currently freetext invoices can be selected on projects which does not allow postings as regard to the status and users can also select fixed price projects. The error message when doing so is not telling this but is quite strange such as ProjectPostingType called incorrectly.
