If I want to automate reservation of backorder lines, which may not be released immediately to WHS, then I should work with reservations and markings. The functionality is there, but with available options (None/Reservations/Markings and reservations), it is not possible to transfer inventory status from Trans lock to Available AND simultaneously maintain the markings and reservations. To automate reservation of backorder lines there should be an 4th option added to the Inventory Status Change drop down menu, with following functionality: KEEP Markings and reservervations ─ The inventory status of the received items can be changed. Additionally, the markings set between sales orders and purchase orders are RETAINED/KEPT and the on-hand inventory reservations are also RETAINED/KEPT.
