As we can't customize the social panel as per client needs/requirement, having a customizable social panel will surely help to meet clients requirement.
Actions like:
- Adding/Remove fields.
- Sorting as per date
- Sorting as per status
- and so on

The social panel looks great and makes it very easy to quickly add various items and actions to a record. With that said, there's been quite a big oversight in its design by Microsoft and it's compounded by not allowing people the same ease and flexibility afforded in the rest of the software around customising it. No one wants Modify Date and Modified By as the two "key" fields on the social pane that denote when activity took place. It's extremely misleading and is causing custoemrs pain when they re-assign records and find that all of a sudden, the social pane shows everything completed as TODAY by SYSTEM. Why MS thought that was a good idea is beyond me and no documentation or training material covers this lesser known "feature". This would be easilly resolved if we had access to change the fields that display on the social panel like we do on subgrids and their views. As such, we can't. Essentially customers have to pick between social panel functionality or re-assigning records when users leave.
