We got a requirement from one of our clients where we have to maintain safety stock for all items (Minimum/maximum) and whenever the inventory comes down below this safety stock (minimum maintained in item coverage) an notification should go to user regrading this for him to take appropriate action.


I know using MRP we can create planned PO's for this . But what about the customers who are not using MRP. This requirement is very common and can be asked by anyone and MRP might not be required for them.


Let us say we have a retail company who just buys and sells stuff. They don't need MRP for their business but they can have a requirement of maintaining a safety stock and then compare their on hand report along with this safety stock to decide whether a Purchase has to be made.


As of now I do not see any report which contains the Safety stock (min/max) in the product and this would really be a good addition and can help a lot of customers.


Kindly check this requirement and if suitable do the necessary. If you have any alternatives or existing functionality similar to this I would love to hear about this,
