when new calendar created with the Base calendar with the "normal" working hours, will inherit the normal working hours , not the holidays. it has to be updated manually for every new calendar.
Base calendar should inherit the holidays also.

I agree Marcel. For base calendars no working hours or times should be inherited to new calendars. In my opinion, only Control state = closed should be inherited from base calender but no working times.

Could make it much easier to have one central holiday calendar, that is honored by the normal working calendars.

Payroll tax updates are ending next year and this enhancement does not meet the criteria for enhancement at this time.
