Receipt margins are not applied for the required dates in action messages, resulting in wrong suggestions for required dates for purchase orders. In this case, an action message is generated every time master planning is running and delivery date of PO and SO are equal, when using a receipt margin, however: the system will never apply the right date.

Example:

Receipt margin on coverage group = 2

Sales order for October 3, 2025

Run MRP for the item.

Purchase order for October 1, 2025

Firm planned purchase order

Now adjust the Sales order to October 5, 2025

Run MRP for the item again.

Result:

• Action to postpone purchase order to October 5 (= same day as sales order, as receipt margin is not supported)
• Exect: Requested adjustment: ensure: receipt margin is used, so postpone action is towards October 3
• When you Apply the action (so Purchase order gets October 5 as requested delivery date) and run MRP again, again an Action is there to Advance the purchase order with 2 days to October 5 (which is already the same date).

Remark

Action messages are working fine for Issue margins, so it becomes even more difficult to explain to a customer why issue margin is applied, but receipt margin is not applied...
