In Italy there is a fiscal requirement which states that invoice numbering must be consequent and in chronological order. Moreover, there is the requirement to start the sequence of each sales tax book from 1 every year. During the change of the year, customers are normally posting invoices in both previous and current year for
several days in the beginning of the year and in D365 there is only one number sequence code for sales tax book. This means that every time they are posting an invoice in a different year, they will need to manually change the number sequence for that tax book section.
In some situations this is not even possible. For example if customer has e-commerce and retail interfaces that automatically import and post transactions in the system.
It would be good to automate this number sequence change between years.
