The flow of assembly items needs major improvement. The current flow is extremely cumbersome and leads to short shipping. This scenario is with Warehouse Shipments and Warehouse Picks enabled.

  1. When entering a make-to-order assembly order, have the system auto fill the Qty to Assemble based on what can be made now. Currently, users have no idea how much can be shipped and have to take additional steps to go to Item Availability by Bom Level and then fill it in manually.
  2. When the warehouse shipment is created and a warehouse pick is created, the system can currently suggests to pick partial assemblies. It should never do this as this can lead to short shipping assemblies. The pick must only contain component quantities to build full assemblies.
  3. Warehouse pick documents and Picking list reports should include the assembly item and description that is being made (not just the components so staff know what they are building.
  4. When registering picks, the system does not update the Qty to Ship on the Warehouse Shipment. Even the Autofill Qty. to Handle does nothing. This forces the user to manually enter Qty. to Ship on assembly items. This is very confusing if there is a mix of assembly items and regular items on the order and can lead to short shipments.
