The Customer ID field on the Order form is mandatory. It's set for both the Account and Contact entities.
Currently you can't set it to just either Account or Contact and it won't allow javascript to alter it's behavior.

The project I'm working on requires that field to be for Contacts only so with Accounts being selectable it enables the possibility of the process failing.

Please can this be amended so the Customer ID field can be set and/or scripted to Accounts OR Contacts?

Yes, this should be a configurable setting. The options should be:
1) Account only
2) Contact only.
3) Either Account or Contact (seems to be only suitable for small organisations, it is a real pain for data consistency)

It also needs to encompass Quotes and Opportunities etc
