This option, vs Spanish (Spain, Alfabetización internacional)" is a leftover carried from a time where MS-Dos and UNIX were state-of-the art, and it presents several problems:

1. I'm the only person I know (see third point) that knows the difference between both options. And I promise you that I'm not that unpopular. Like, really, everyone in Spain just chooses one of them at random.


2. It forces every partner that has an App with Spanish translations to have two identical copies of the XLF translation file, one for each option.


3. Thankfully, this is something that should not happen in SaaS but, if a customer chooses Spanish (Spain, Alfabetización tradicional) as the collation for their database... BIG mistake. The difference is very subtle, related to how many decades ago "ll" and "ch" were considered a single letter. Years ago I had a customer that did that (because he choose randomly between them, and choose poorly) and it was... thrilling, to say the least (and thus, I learned what the hell was "Spanish Traditional").

P.S. Apple offered both options in macOS many, many, years ago, and they also removed them and left a single "Spanish (Spain)" option in both iOS and macOS.
