In Business Central, the standard practice involves managing item tracking at the item level. However, we are facing a situation where item tracking needs to be customized to be location-specific. This scenario arises when customers operate multiple locations and wish to implement item tracking in one location while excluding it in others. Typically, one of these locations serves as a warehouse, while the rest are regular inventory locations.
The purpose of this customization is to efficiently handle inventory management within warehouses while bypassing the need for item tracking in regular inventory locations. This scenario is relevant to many distributors and retailers who specifically require lot tracking within their warehouses but not in their regular inventory storage areas.
We propose the idea to incorporate location-based LOT tracking functionality.
