It is unclear if Dynamics CRM is tool to help salesperson annoy and spam potential customers or is intended use to improve efficiency and quality of the salespersons.

 

CRM as sales tool is useless. You can’t send out quotes if it has missing tax info and setting and margin calculation (what if salesperson sells with negative margin).

 

We can’t see any efficiency in situation where you need to make indicative quotes in CRM and then legally valid and financially sound (tax wise) quotes in ERP. CRM and ERP are definitions decades old – today it must be one system to avoid data entry or synchronization between systems.

 

-     Dynamics sales / BC connector needs out of the box mapping for accounts, account settings, posting groups etc. so quotes sent from Dynamics Sales will be legally and financially relevant.

 

-     Margin calculation out of the box. Not sure how MS has planned it but preparing quotes without seeing margin is bit questionable. If you need to calculate it in XLS or check from ERP then this makes no sense.

 

It looks that working with MS software is deep black hole where we can bury huge amounts of cash without getting much efficiency out of it. Risk here is that these developments will be obsolete near future, and it all starts from the scratch.

 

Will there be any functional improvements, or should we select Odoo as we hear many MS customers do who need efficient, modern and operational CRM/ERP.
