Our counting lines per journal is around 800-1000 lines. After committing counting lines from POS, once system complete processes for all lines, journal lines will be created on D365 backends. Time out from committing on POS to journal lines created is 10 minutes during those waiting time Commit button on POS should be grey out.
Since time out after committing on POS is 2 minutes, user can recommit again but hit error. This confuse POS user whether those counting journal lines are successfully committed or not.

Thanks for your feedback. An improved stock count operation in POS is delivered in 2021 release Wave 2. This improved operation not only adds several new capabilities such as parallel counting, data validation, support for serial-controlled and location-controlled products, etc. It also ultilizes the asynchronous document processing framework (being used in other POS inventory operations) to eliminate timeouts occured in the legacy stock count operation when users attempt to post large counting journals. Please consider enabling the "Improved stock count operation in POS" feature in HQ Feature management workspace to experience the enhancements. - Boyce Zhu, Principaln Product Manager, Dynamics 365 Commerce
