When creating a custom dropdown field, the pick list you build out cannot be edited in the future. There may be times when some of the dropdown options are no longer needed or have to be edited. This is especially complicated when there are numerous options to choose from. Create a custom dropdown, then go to System admin/Custom fields.

Almost 3 years and it still needs votes? will this ever be implemented? Surely there are many customers who are in need of editing or removing values so why is this still waiting.

Yes, this is really important. We've implemented picklist and then 6 months later the requirement changes, but you can't change the field.

A further advantage to this would be the ability to hide from the drop down for future use if no longer required but needs to be retained for historical reporting - so that colleagues cannot select deactivated codes

Even if the customer accidentally create an empty field, that is not used anywhere - it remains between the valid custom values without the possibility to delete it!

We would appreciate to have thi feature - when we add new values and make even one mistake, then we need to delete whole custom field, create a new one and update all records where the pickup list is used. Thnaks a lot!

This is a really big need of our organization as well. If values from a custom field picklist cannot be edited then please at least give us the option to inactivate certain ones so that they do not have to show up to users who use custom fields on forms.
