Giving the user the option of choosing a colour theme in their user options is a nice feature, but I think we also need company colours. In previous versions we used colour options in two ways.

Before go live, the colour is mostly used to identify the environment (DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD) - specifically for users who are testing the system and setting up configuration.

After go live, colours are mostly used in multi-company environments, to identify the company that the user is working in, but still have a use in identifying the supporting testing and training environments.

It'd also be useful if there was a simple way of setting up environment-wide defaults of these colour setups, especially with scripts which could be run after we've copied the data from one environment to another.

Thanks

Tim

Agree with Julia, I've lived 2 MSDyn365FO deployments where they users would see great to have the companies well identified by colours.

The ability to assign a different colour to each of the legal entities is a common modification that we have to do. This would be a great use for users. We commonly modify the Grid Background colours to distinguish between legal entities. To have this feature as standard would just make user life that much easier particularly for large multi-national corporations.
