Description:
Currently, Business Central allows managing translations for Items (via Item Translations) and other master data records, but there is no equivalent functionality for Resources.
In many business scenarios, Resources (e.g., services, employees, machines) need multilingual descriptions for sales documents, service orders, and reporting.
Without native translation management for Resources, companies operating in multiple countries or serving multilingual customers must either:
- Create custom extensions to store translations, or
- Maintain separate Resources per language, which increases data duplication and maintenance effort.
Proposal:
Add a standard "Resource Translations" feature, similar to "Item Translations", allowing users to:
- Define description translations per language code directly from the Resource Card
- Automatically display the correct translation based on the user’s or customer’s language settings
- Use translations on sales and service documents, reports, and integrations
