This is a bit vague on what the idea behind this functionality is.

This has been implemented in a way that the Availability by UoM looks into ILE's with a given UoM, however, ILE's will usually hold Base Unit of Measure.

I would expect this functionality to be more of a "On-the-Go" conversion between Units of Measure, so that users can see the same Base Quantity in different UoMs.

What's the true idea behind this functionality? Why did MS implement this in such an open ended analysis?

The Item Ledger Entry standard page does not even show Units of Measure codes, so, this is really confusing.
