In D365 the customer facing dual display screen only only shows the "Amount Due" field. Previously in AX2012 showed the fields in the receipt grid on this display.

Currently customers can extend the fields as shown in the following article

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/retail/dev-itpro/pos-dual-display-extension

But it would be much simpler for end users to be able to manage this through a designer similar to the screen layout designer and not need to go to a development team or partner to manage for them

I think MS should consider building a completely new Screen Layout Designer. The current one is bad in so many ways - I could write an essay about it :)

Users upgrading from AX 2012 are still seeing this a regression. At least the basic functionalities available in Dynamics AX EPOS should be ported to MPOS.

If it is being given in the designer then i think the flexibility of doing things will not be available. So I think there is much more flexibility in doing this rather than just configuration.

I agree here. This should be a simple designer to setup what and how the information is displayed on the dual display. And it should handle different screen resolutions with the same setup.

The example code in the SDK is also too primitive as it is now.

The solution should also contain a possiblity to setup some images in D365FO that can be served as a single webpage with a carousel, so a simple carousel can be maintained sentrally to show different images on the dual display.

A more advanced webpage that could display images based on the customer of the item the customer buys, would also be nice in the future.
