When searching for products it defaults the search for a string contained in the product name, and then it searches by Product ID. Additional search criteria can be added, but currently the search order cannot be changed.

Expanding the search criteria to be more comprehensive, so for example a user can search via product ID as the primary search, that this can be defined.
