Apparently, the Item Template table has been replaced by a new table. If you search for Item templates to manage the different Item Templates you get a list of item templates stored in table 1382.
But if you do the function Apply Template from the Item Card, you get a list of item templates from another table 1301, that seems to be the old one.

please also vote this idea, for allowing to define ANY field for (item) templates:

Before this preview-feature:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2020wave2/smb/dynamics365-business-central/use-conversion-templates-convert-contacts-vendors-employees
When you wanted to apply an item template, you get the "Config. Template Header (8618)" table to select an item from. This was very powerful because in the configuration templates you could add ANY (also any custom field from any extension) of the item table fields to the template.

After that preview-feature:
When you want to apply an item template, you get the "Item Templ. (1382)". Those are totally different templates than the one you can define in the Configuration Templates. Those templates are so limited in the item fields you can define that is basically useless.

That preview-feature broke functionality!!!

Please fix this before it becomes generally available. Losing this functionality is very bad for speed of item creation and accuracy of master data!

I agree, this is very confusing as you get two different lookup tables depending on where you look for the templates. I assume the use of the Config Header style templates is the newer version which allows many more fields to be defaulted and is very useful but the old template cant even let you select Item Tracking Code or No. Series for a template so its not very helpful in warehousing/manufacturing businesses. It changed when this was introduced;
