Use case perfume: one product with different units (75ml or 100ml), comparison unit does not work for that and the unit cannot be transferred to purchase order and so on
Use case sizes with varying weights: one can expect issues with intrastat or customs declaration, when there is only a weight on the product level

We have thousands of products that we require this on. This includes when purchasing a variant we require the weight to correctly complete Government documentation
Plus when selling a variant the weight could vary from 1g to 1kg which when booking transport for 1000 items makes a large difference

I have at least 3 clients that need this currently. a unique configuration or combination of variants absolutely should support unique physical dimensions. This is a major concern on two D365 implementations I am currently leading.
