Problem Statement:
- In today's competitive business environment, many small and midsized companies deal with products that have minimum sales quantities (MOQ) due to supplier requirements, packaging constraints, or cost efficiencies. However, Dynamics 365 Business Central currently lacks native support for enforcing MOQ directly on sales orders or lines. While MOQ settings exist for purchasing and inventory replenishment (e.g., via item card fields like Minimum Order Quantity in reordering policies), there's no built-in way to apply and validate these on the sales side. This forces users to rely on manual checks leading to errors, lost revenue from under-sales, and inefficient workflows.
Proposed Solution:
Add a new field on the Item Card (e.g., "Minimum Sales Quantity") that enforces MOQ validation on sales orders, quotes, and invoices. Key features could include:
- Automatic warnings or blocks when entered quantities fall below the MOQ.
- Options for rounding up to the nearest valid quantity (e.g., if MOQ is 5, entering 3 auto-adjusts to 5).
- Integration with units of measure, customer-specific pricing, and e-commerce connectors for seamless application.
