If an item is sold to a D365 POS that is not in the store location's book inventory, the result is that the item is in the store location's negative inventory.
This means that there was insufficient book inventory because the actual product exists.
In this case, the D365 POS would automatically generate a positive inventory adjustment, resulting in zero inventory, eliminating the negative inventory analysis and simplifying the inventory analysis & control.
