When trying to evaluate a date that is in the future, such as an Opportunity's Estimated Close Date, you cannot use the various options such as: "Last X Days", "Older Than X Days", "Older Than X Weeks", etc because the date is in the future. This would work however if the integer field allowed a negative number. It sadly does not though. The error popup says "Please enter a number 1 through 500".

e.g. If we could put in Last X Days = -120 AND Older Than X Days = -60, then it would easily show us opportunities that are estimated to close within the next 60 to 120 days. Useful for a forward looking projection.
