With the new storage structure for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform there is a separation between database and file storage. When creating an out-of-the-box Customer Service environment more than 500MB of valuable database storage as lost to the WebResources table.

With the new storage structure and separation of database and file storage one would assume the actual files linked to WebResources could be stored in file-storage instead of database-storage. This would save a lot of (expensive) database storage.
In addition this would make it a lot easier – I would guess – to make use of services like a CDN for the webresources from system solutions.
