In the Employer Number Lookup window, it is best to add a sort order or priority order so have the default value in the Employee Maintenance window will use the first in the sort order instead of in Alphabetical order.
This could be in general for all lookup windows.

Thank you for your suggestion. We have reviewed this functionality ask previously. Unfortunately, given the impact throughout the entire system and on customizations, this is not something we can consider at this time..
