When the auto refresh is turned-on on the focused view and If the entity(eg case) on the worklist and entity on the form (case again) matches, then the worklist will be refreshed. And if the opened entity form was not part of the worklist, the first record is being selected by default after refresh on save . It would be great if it stays on the same form even after having the auto -refresh enabled.
