Currently when creating an engineering product that has another product dimension like color or style, you just select the first value for those dimensions and then have to create an ECO to define and release additional variants. For products with a large number of variants this is a very time consuming process. It also incorrectly shows the product has gone through a change when that was just to define all the original variants.

Instead, it would be helpful to be able to use the standard functionality of defining color groups, style groups, etc. and being able to have the system suggest and generate all the applicable variants. Even better would be to allow additional product dimensions to be released automatically similar to how that works on standard product masters.
