Having this function only working on journal entries is not useful considering the bulk of our transactions (95%+) are done with the mobile device. Being able to restrict movement to locations via the warehouse management app is essential to prevent users from moving material into specific locations.Â
Perfectly agree. No customer accepts pure numeric DataAreaId code with no meaning, therefore there should be room for digits representing the country (e.g. user ISO code) and the remaining to count the company in that country.
Even if you use only one char to identify the country (but countries and more than 100!) you end up with only 999 companies available per country.
There are businesses (Real Estate is one example) in which the number of companies can be easily be some hundreds and therefore the solution is not scalable in the long run.
What a pity that Microsoft did not consider this point on its own and now we have to go through a wish list.
This point prevents just to active cleaning of duplicate data in the system - it's like if I would lose the customer history.
And since Microsoft with Dynamics Marketing is also not able to adjust the duplicate detection to the real needs, this is from my point of view a serious bug in its entirety.
