Yes, this functionality is very much required, as this will ease during the Data management, Excel Add-ins and Reports which are dependent on financial dimensions.
The best example is:
We have a customer who is running their operations in more than 30 countries and 10 are having the same chart of accounts and the 7 are having their own and the remaining entities are having their own chart of accounts. For all these 30 legal entities have around 50 custom financial dimensions excluding the entity backed dimensions. So, while configuring the financial dimensions for integration of applications requires to add all the financial dimensions as this configuration is not legal entity specific. Hence this will be huge difficult process during importing the Master such as Customer, Bank etc. and general journal or any other transaction through data management and or Excel-Addin as we don't have the option configure to display each financial dimension as a separate column in the data template configuration (which essential can be configured for each legal entity, but currently tedious process).
Hope Microsoft can provide more dynamic approach to resolve the issue.
This feature will benefit the customer across the globe, as this is a common ask during any implementation.
Also, the Exchange rate gain/loss account must consider the first search from the Currency revaluation posting profiles based upon the transaction currency if no configuration found then 2nd search from the Ledger setup configuration to pick the realized Exchange rate gain/loss account automatically based upon the Transaction Currency code.
