Microsoft Dynamics 365
External web links are not allowed due to security concerns.
Also, the file we would access on a website/server would be large. Vendor BOM files are typically 240MB for everything on the tool.
In the situation outlined above, I wanted to add a smaller PDF file (200kb) that would open just like a photo. Then the weblink can be used to go to our internal part ordering process. This would enable us to look at a exploded drawing view, select the vendor part number then open the part ordering weblink and enter the information.
In other words I am asking to put additional media panels, to be used for images, pdfs, and weblinks.
Indeed I also experienced this a number of times, it's a good idea to fix this behaviour.
This needs to be a base feature in order to any type of CI/CD automation. Requiring someone to do steps manually defeats the purpose of being able to automate deployments.
You could get around this by using the SMTP server in the O365 tenant:
That is what we are using with a shared mailbox and works just fine.
This would be a dream come true.
This is a huge issue for us, we have CNC cutting and manufacturing, where we have one sheet that makes multiple parts
We also then send the parts to subcontract on pallets before finishing them but BC is very poor at sub process management
Agree. I have asked our support team to do a custom enhancement for this. It would be even better to be able to view attachment in the same screen (dual pane) so can look at the journals/etc. and attachments side by side.
It would in fact be even better to show both the local currency code, the amount in local currency, the transaction currency and the amount in the transactions currency in all screens system-wide. E.g. also in sales invoices, purchase invoices, ...
My proposal is to use the suggestion of the original poster, but adopt it everywhere AND also show the local currency code (instead of leaving that blank).
We are working with foreign currencies for about 30% of our transactions and in any given selection or page view there could be a mix of different currencies. Very often the user would like to see the local currency amount equivalent on posted sales invoice lines and totals. Seeing both local and transaction currency for every document and transaction is useful and should not be a problem on screens with increased pixel real-estate.
If you switch between BC-companies with accounts in different currencies, the 'local currency' might not be immediately obvious for the user. It is better to always show that local currency instead of leaving the currency code field empty, as is now the case. (Or at least make it optional to show it when the user wants.)
Just hit the same issue last year we had this license "Microsoft Dynamics Marketing Enterprise Demo for Partners" but it's now been removed from the partner portal
To prevent users from changing other users' job queues, could we restrict users to see their own job queues only?
We can introduce a job queue permissions for users who are responsible for managing / monitoring recurring job queues.
Allowing admin / users with specific permissions to see all job queues so that no user will 'accidentally' pause / delete job queues set up by admin or other users.
