100% an actual business requirement for my company. Why would a user go to all the effort of the Vendor-Item table to then raise a manual PO (because not everything can be planned for) to have to see a full list (in our case 3,000+) of items to select?
At least the list hides anything "Blocked", it would be good to filter directly, or as Mr Kwa suggest, have a function to see a filtered list to pick from.
Great that the issue needs votes. I do have more reasons why I believe the VS Code extension should be open source.
As far as I understand, the extension ships with the entire AL-compiler (alc.exe). I do not know how tightly coupled the extension and the AL-compiler is, but would it be possible to simply exclude the source of the AL-compiler and only ship the code for the extension?
The reason for asking is that I believe issues like these may suggest a bug in the VS Code extension
https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/181485
https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/191178
If the source for the VS Code extension was open source, other developers could help find such bugs.
This should be a fundamental setting. I have never understood why it is so easy to change an item description, customer name, posting group etc etc without there being either a save button to press to confirm the changes or an edit button to press in order to make the change. I have 100% confidence that every single business using dynamics has had this issue at some point or other!
