  • Make it easy, The On premises deployment

Current experience of on premises deployment is almost a nightmare. You have to run hundreds of PowerShell commands and bang head in wall, with non-detailed error messages. It is taking almost 10 working days to finish one installation.

How nice it would be it this whole exercise can be made easy. What if Microsoft On-prem setup asks about ‘required values’ and handle everything from there on its own?

‘required values’ Can be IP(s) of servers in the cluster, the path of storage location, service accounts, domain name etc.

This could save lot of costs for customers and partners, as well as can make life of people easy.

  • Enable code preview in hotfixes and packages

Code preview helps to understand what will go in, after import. This used be there, but with recent version of Dynamics AX and MSDyn365FO, the code preview is not available for majority of fixes. An example can be seen on Next URL. https://fix.lcs.dynamics.com/Issue/Results?q=DisplayCompanyForLedgerAccount&x=21&y=9&dm=0&v=3_5_7_4_1_16_2_9_8_15&i=2_1_3_4&ct=1_3_5_4_2_6&ft=1_2_3&cu=&pi=&pm=&pc=&rd=&d=&envId=&permission= If you are unable to open previous URL, try to copy paste or please search on LCS with keyword DisplayCompanyForLedgerAccount You will find two fixes, one for R3 version and one for R2 version. The difference between the two is of preview. In the R2 version you can preview the code. In R3 version of the fix, you cannot preview the code. Same (no-preview of the code) goes for most of Dynamics 365 fixes. If this is a technical constraint, that is fine and could be respected. Otherwise, this could be very helpful, as this used to be. It gives deep understanding before attempting something.
