  • Add Groups Feature for Sales Transactions

Quickbooks Enterprise has a nice feature called Groups that allows individual items to be nested under a single line item on sales transactions. It is separate from Assembly items, which you must build before you are able to invoice. More on the differences, functionality, and use cases are included in this article. https://www.accountexnetwork.com/blog/2011/02/groups-vs-assemblies/ We do a lot of project work, and this feature has given us lots of flexibility over what assemblies provide. It would be great to see a similar feature in Business Central.
  • Cancel Button for Transactions Created From Outlook Add In

Add a cancel button for transactions that are started but you don't want to save from the Outlook Add-In.
  • Vendor Selection Field for Sales Orders that Copies to Purchase Orders

Add a vendor selection column to Sales Orders line items to specify which vendor each line item should be purchased from. For example, we can purchase the same product from 3 different distributors but might want to purchase from a specific one due to pricing and availability. Have this copy over to the Vendor field on the purchase order when it is created from a selected line.
  • Drag and Drop Attachments

Allow attachments to be uploaded by dragging and dropping onto the screen rather than via file explorer.
  • Allow Users to Adjust Width of Columns

Users often come to me asking to adjust column widths. It would be nice if they could do this via the GUI, without the need for personalizations or extensions, and it would be even better if the system remembers their preferences. If this is not technically feasible, then it would be nice if all column widths in the application were extendable. Specifically, the Item No. dropdown on sales documents does not allow column widths to be adjusted. This forces users to either hover their cursor over the item to preview the full part number or launch the full list. Both of these are considered tedious by the users when in desktop applications they would simply adjust the width of the column.
  • Fix Order By on Columns

When opening a list of records ordered by a certain column, I would expect the first record based on the order by column to be selected. The application seems to want to select the first record in the table based on No. Series and select that record in the list. For a view with lots of records that means the page opens at the bottom instead of at the top, forcing users to do a lot of scrolling or become familiar with keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+Home, Ctrl+End.
  • Send Documents from Outlook Client

When you click the Send by Email in the Outlook Add-In for Business Central, it opens a new email in the Outlook client with the document attached. I believe this should also be the default action when you send a document from the browser version of Business Central (with an option in the setup to change if desired). This would allow people the ability to send from their own address, rather than through the single email from SMTP as is the default today. It would also give them more control over formatting their message, and the ability to add additional attachments to the message.
  • Allow resizing of text area inputs

Multiline text inputs are set to a default of 3 lines with no option to grab the corner and resize. This only allows the users to see a very limited amount of the field at a time and requires lots of scrolling. It would be great if users could drag and resize the control on the page, or if there was an Assist Edit they could open to allow the field to be edited on its own page with a larger text area.
  • Global Search

Global Search would be a greatly welcomed feature in BC. Our users were very frustrated when moving to BC from our old product because this feature did not exist out-of-the-box. Some great third-party solutions already exist for this feature. Clever Search, NAV-X Search. Perhaps one of those offerings could be incorporated as standard feature.
  • Consistent Behavior When Clicking on a Document No.

In archived document list pages, clicking on the document number does not directly open the document's card page. Users instead have to select the line, click Navigate, click Line, and then click Card. In other document lists, clicking on a document number directly opens that document's card page. Please make them behave like the other document list pages.
