Restrict the leave and absence plans available through ESS

      Suggested by Deepak ShankarNew 0
      Category: Employee and Manager Self-Service

Ability to restrict which leave plans are available for employees to select from in ESS. Currently, all leave plans that employees are enrolled in become available in the dropdown in ESS. Some plans should be administered by HR only such as military leave, parental leave, education leave, STD and LTD, etc.

Managing team cases from "My team"

      Suggested by Deepak ShankarNew 0
      Category: Employee and Manager Self-Service

It would be great to have the ability to have managers take part in and manage the cases for individuals in their team. Currently, the only way to include this would be to expose the entirety of the employee list for that legal entity (through personnel management) but, I think a tile in the "My team" page in Employee self service containing their teams open cases would really enrich the case functionality.

Allow Managers view access to their direct reports' personal contact phone numbers

      Suggested by Deepak ShankarNew 0
      Category: Employee and Manager Self-Service

Within some organisations the manager must self-serve their employee's personal information in the case of an emergency, and the HR team are not available due as it may be overnight. This would include Managers viewing their direct reports' home phone number or mobile (if they have not shown up for work), and their emergency contact phone numbers (incase of a work accident). I would suggest managers view this information on their direct reports via My Team within Employee Self Service. If this information is not available for Managers, they must keep their own records outside of the system, which may become out of date or unsecured.

Restrict managers to assign open positions that are not under their report

      Suggested by Deepak ShankarNew 0
      Category: Employee and Manager Self-Service

In most companies, managers can request or assign employees to positions that are under their report only. I'm suggesting a new parameter to control this process and restrict managers to see and assign all the positions that are open in the system at the time they are using manager self service. This restriction will help managers to see clearly how many open positions they can assign and also to protect open positions that belong to other business areas (potential security breach) Example 1. This is an example of "Request new employee" process where the manager can select any open position from the dropdown list. The manager may not have any open position under their report however she can still select any open position across the organization breaking the position hierarchy. 2. Current parameter "View open positions" is very useful because shows to the managers how many open positions they have on the dashboard however this parameter doesn't restrict the access to other open positions when they request a new employee. 3. Suggested new parameter "Assign open positions". This parameter will allow organisations to set up if managers can assign positions to "Direct reports only", "Extended reports", "Both", "None" or "All" (current behaviour)

Managers access to direct reports' attachments

      Suggested by Deepak ShankarNew 0
      Category: Employee and Manager Self-Service

The primary objective of a manager self-service functionality is to give managers access to their direct reports' personnel data as well as enabling the managers to act on certain employee related tasks. Having these capabilities allows managers to be more self-reliant and reduces HR's workload, enabling them to focus on higher-value HR work to the benefit of the company, HR and the managers. Enabling managers’ access to direct reports’ attachments would additionally decrease the need and use of local document archives. A great advantage in the effort to comply with GDPR. I therefore suggest enabling managers to view and add attachments on their direct reports via My Team on Employee Self Service. In Talent this feature has already been enabled for employees via Employee Self Service and enabling it for managers as well does not seem so far-fetched either. It would make sense to control the managers access to attachments similarly to the employees’ access, only allowing them to view and add attachments of Restriction type “External”.
