It is a very common scenario:

Inventory is physically moved from one site to another (moving from warehouse on the east coast to warehouse on the west coast)

Freight cost is incurred during the move, and this cost needs to increase the inventory value.

There can be other charges such as duty and tariffs if the source and destination in different countries.

Right now there is no reasonable way to add the charges cost to the inventory value of the products moved (as can be done with purchase orders, using charges)

This is a MAJOR pain, and a repeated request.

Thank you for your feedback. We addressed this issue as part of the functionality in the new Landed cost module introduced in the April 2021 release wave.

Can someone give an update if this feature is coming? Agree with Laura - It's is like a teaser with the button out there.

Really need this for a customer project.

Thanks Laura. Does seem so.

The menu item that appeared in 7.2 doesn't seem to be functional.  You click it and the charges form comes up empty.  None of the paths through the code look for charges linked to a transfer order so I don't think it is possible to have the New button enabled to add charges.

What is this menu item for on the form? It's like a teaser out there!

Has this been developed and not updated here on Ideas site.

It still says Under review.

However I see in 7.2 there is a Charges button which is new.

I agree, this is long overdue.

We have many transfers of inventory from our locations domestic and foreign and the only reasonable way to absorb freight on these transfers is to perform a rework order on the inventory to absorb additional freight cost.  This is quite cumbersome and would much more easily be done through a charge on a transfer order/journal.

We have found that our users are proposing movement journals to write-off and write-up inventory for the additional freight but but generally requires an accountant and care so as to not manually post to inappropriate accounts.

We are currently implementing purchasing and warehouse management and landed cost would be much easier to get to if we had this functionality - at least warehouse to warehouse.

I agree. There should be a way to add Freight charges at minimum to transfer inventory between different warehouses.
