Deactivate button is missing from Competitor form in CRM 2011. Since we would like to be able to deactivate also this form, please add this possibility in future release. (We issued a support case on this, but it seems to be missing as part of intended design.)

In case the company in question is no longer a competitor, we still would like to keep it in the system, but not show up for the user in normal selection. This would be the reason behind this change request. (Our users are used to having this option on most other entities, which is why think it would make sense to have also on the Competitor form.)

can you please also help provide a business scenario on why deactivation of competitors is necessary?

Hello. I have submitted the suggestion for the release consideration. In the meantime, would the following workaround work? Create a custom field on competitor called 'competitor status' with states active and inactive. when the competitor becomes inactive, change this field on the form, and create a custom view that uses this field to show active vs inactive competitors. Please let us know if this workaround could work for you. thanks.
