I think a some kind of factbox will be great. Apart from showing G/L Account, Customer ... etc Balance, having to Journal Balance in Amount (LCY) could be also a great addiction.

Some customers want their users to see the balance of a G/L account on lookup, others don't .
Maybe it is an option to add a new parameter in the user setup to let the admin control whether or not a user can see numbers.
