Order Promising on e.g. Sales Order should take the planning parameters of assembly item components into account when calculating the Expected Shipment Date.

Example:

Assembly Item 10000 has two components: 10001 and 10002. The quantity on inventory is zero for both components. I set up a Lead Time for both components e.g. “10D”. I enter item 10000 on Sales Order and get the warning for insufficient inventory (correct, since there are missing components). Then I run Capable-to-Promise under Order Promising, since I wanted to know when item 10000 would be available for sale. System calculates “Earliest Shipment Date” but the component lead times are not taken in consideration. The system should have calculated “Earliest Shipment Date” to be today + 10 days (+ all obviously all other planning parameters that CTP uses).

The Order Promising calculations will consider the components, when the Item.Critical = TRUE, though this calculation / option affects only manufacturing Items. Although, the same setup could be applied to the Assembly Items and its components.
