On scenarios like warehouse and production having the possibility to direct print a report to a local printer is a must to have.
Why not creating a functionality for that? It could be possible to handle this scenario with a service that must be installed offline (like the Intelligent Cloud service) that for example:
- receives the report stream via an HttpClient call from AL
- sends the document stream to a local printer

This is an absolute must!
We provide customer solutions with advanced document printing (Sales, Purchase, etc.). Direct printing to a printer setup in the database, preselecting of paper tray for payment slip is an demand and a must have.

Not having a build-in "direct-printing-functionality" would be a show stopper for at least 80% of our customers. This ist not a feature, this is a must in a serious/solid business application.
If it's not possible to get this "solved" in webbrowser environments, this should be implemented in the windows 10 app "Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central" from Microsoft Store.

This feature is a must have for deploying the web base client with many customers.
If a service would require something to install on the client, another way would be to add extra features on the Windows Modern App: allowing to access printers and file system?
An extra feature like that is already available with the camera on the Phone App.
