It used to be that customers/partners were able to move between online and on-premise versions. This has changed and now customer or partners are unable to move customization from Online 9.1 to On-premise 9.0. This spells disaster for ISVs trusting the online platform since if a customer moves to online with all the investment and effort and discover that it's just not good enough and wants to move back not only would the door be locked but the key would be flushed away altogether. Another very important aspect is that this major change in policy was not communicated with high importance as far as I can see. You guys had this policy of allowing database backups, people move to online to try it thinking that policy still stands and find out it's not there anymore. Isn't that contrary to the vision of "empowerment"?

From a developer's perspective, you can't rely on the quick and easy setup of cloud to build applications suitable for both platforms and still have to rely on setting up servers. Are you guys really planning to split the product into two different things altogether eventually?
